Cosatto i-Spin Stroller Review

Cosatto started in 2003 is a major designer and manufacturer of pushchairs, highchairs, prams, nursery equipment and maternity goods. Acquired by the Supercover Group, Cosatto pushchairs are cool and funky designed for today’s moms and dads, with due consideration for quality, money and safety. If the Cosatto Swift Lite Supa Pushchair is a great little nip around buggy, then the new, improved i-Spin Stroller is designed for your baby to make a simple trip into a military style operation. This stroller can help make trips out with your baby completely trouble free. The following review on this stroller will be all about its design and technical features with details on some of the accessories that come alongside the product.

Design features:

The Cosatto i-Spin Stroller has a smart, modern look with sleek brushed aluminium profiles and nicely tailored durable upholstery finished with flock printing and contrasting embroidery and is built with a satin harness. The Cosatto i-Spin is a cool, comfortable buggy designed for urban families and no doubt will let your child travel in absolute comfort, making for a much more pleasurable journey. Weighing around 9kg, this stroller is suitable for birth and can accommodate up to 18kg of weight or until the child turns 4 years old. The Cosatto i-Spin is built with an aluminium chassis. This means that the frame is lightweight for certain which will ensure it is great for manoeuvring easily.

Cosatto i-Spin Stroller

Available colours:

The i-Spin Stroller stroller is available in two finishes namely ‘24-7 colourway’ and ‘Smile’. The 24-7 colourway which has impressed us the most is grey lime and green in colour. The washable fabric is quite funky and hip whilst not being over the top. If you think lime green is very bright, fear not as it is mostly an accent colour. The interior of the canopy of the pushchair is light green. The other option on hand, ‘Smile’ comes in a combo of light grey and pink shades.

Seat features:

The Cosatto i-Spin stroller comes with an extremely stylish, extra wide seat which offers generous space and accounts for increased comfort of your baby. The seat sits very upright which your baby will love as he or she could see all around. The seat faces in the forward direction and the stroller does seem to recline very smoothly. With a new, simple one-hand recline adjustment mechanism, the Cosatto stroller is always in position ready for the next logical step. This stroller has ultra padded seats that recline to 6 positions which by the way will recline right down in order, so that there is no need for drowsy heads to slouch uncomfortably. The stroller has an adjustable deal with, so mom and dad of any height can comfortably manoeuvre it along, courtesy the adjustable leg rests that can accommodate any placement your baby would want to sit in. There is also an adjustable calf rest that allows you to tilt back the seat when your baby is sound asleep during a long walk. The  i-Spin Cosatto arrives with chest pads, intended for preserving your baby safe, but without any chest pads, it is not extremely comfortable either.

Folding information:

We really love the way the stroller folds down and if you are someone who lives in an upstairs flat, it will go into your cupboard with no hassle at all.  The stroller has a quick fold action and features a compact, 2 hand umbrella fold mechanism. For sunny days, you can use the stroller jointly with your choice of umbrella to safeguard your infant against the sun. But perhaps, you may find the folded length fairly large (109cm) for smaller car boots which is a drawback. Said that the stroller comes with an auto frame lock and carry handle that makes taking this stroller on the bus or wherever you go a breeze. All said and done, the stroller can fold down in a matter of seconds and the automatic lock on the side will safely lock it in place. Besides, the handles of the Cosatto i-spin Stroller are satisfactorily padded and quite comfortable. This means you will have no problem pushing the Cosatto around the streets and on pavements without your hands getting tired throughout a long day. The carry strap really does sling over your shoulder and so with your baby strapped in, you can pick it up and carry it without any problem. But a few customers have complained of the straps to have become twisted around the waist over a period of use, therefore you will have to make periodic adjustments, but the shoulder strap features nice padding which helps. Overall, the stroller is great for taking it into the bus and getting out of cramped space.

Safety harness:

As an optimal safety feature, the easy to set up stroller has 5 point safety harness that goes around your baby’s waist, between the legs and over both his/her shoulders, just to make sure your baby does not slip out at any point of your strip. But as a slight disappointment, the safety harness is pretty loose on the closest fitting on the baby.

Wheel system:

Coming to the wheel system of the stroller, the Instant SHOP MODE feature is brilliant as it makes manoeuvring the stroller around the shopping centre really easy. The Cosatto i-spin Pushchair is integrated with lockable, swivel wheels on the front and the rear.  Manoeuvring the stroller is a doodle, particularly with the rear wheels which can be locked to spin them. Thanks to the simple pull on a lever on the handle and the back wheels which will swivel and help you turn sharply in an instant. This feature will come in really handy when negotiating tight corners and shops. Nevertheless, we have received a few comments from customers citing that the 4 wheel spin feature is not as simple to control as one is led to believe and that it is a bit like trying to control a trolley. The Dual wheel suspension is incorporated for easy steering offering your baby the smoothest ride possible. Adding another layer of safety are the lined parking brakes that are foot operated for any emergency stops that may occur.

Speakers (with MP3 player adaptor) in the hood:

The most unique selling point of the Cosatto stroller is that it provides you the option to hook up your Ipod or MP3 player to built-in speakers  in the buggy’s hood and pop your mobile phone or MP3 player at the back near the handle. From the nursery rhymes to audio stories to the latest tunes, whatever keeps your infant or toddler amused or soothed, while you do the shopping, school run and errands. Though the stroller has the unique feature of the built-in speakers for the MP3 player, we are not truly satisfied in terms of expected audio performance and in fact the sound quality coming out of the speakers is not amazing. In order to check the speaker volume, you have to stick your head inside the canopy without disturbing your child inside. This is not an issue, though this may seem to be a bit inconvenient. The integrated sound is suffice to entertain even the crankiest toddler. Having said that, the speakers are a fabulous idea for restless toddlers who throw tantrums and will keep them entertained for sometime while you go about your work.  So, just plug in your MP3 player, adjust its volume level and off you go rocking to your favourite tunes.

Accessories:

Now let us proceed on toward things that make lifestyle easier for parents. The small pocket on the back of the stroller helps you store your MP3 player or ipod securely and quite discretely. Like all Cosatto buggies, the storage basket at the bottom of the i-Spin is quite generous in size and is also covered by the fabric on the stroller. We all know that babies require a lot of things even to the smallest of travel, so the inclusion of a larger basket makes a lot of sense.  The shopping basket can be easily accessed through zips on either side of the buggy or through the front or back of the stroller. And mind you, it is always nice to know that all your belongings are safe and easily accessible. There is an included detachable sun/rain hood which is great for keeping things dry and comfortable. The free rain cover fits pretty neatly over the stroller to provide your little one a clear view whilst keeping them dry and warm on the road. A package deal of matching add-ons is also available including cosy toes, changing bag, sunshade/mosquito net. But a disappointment here is that the accessory pack is being sold separately. The fact that you are not provided with travel essentials like car seat, footmuff, cup holder etc can lead to surprises, given the high price of the pushchair. The stroller lacks a reversible seat too.

Dimensions:

The folded dimension of the pushchair is 38cm (H) x 40cm (W) x 109cm (D) and on unfolding, the i-Spin measures 106cm (H) x 55cm (W) x 82cm (D) in size.

Manufacturer warranty:

The product is covered under a manufacturer warranty of 4 years (UK & Ireland only) against manufacturing faults from the original date of purchase.

Summary:

If you spend a good amount of time walking your child in the stroller, the ability to play you or your child’s music to while away the time could prove a real sanity saver. The Cosatto i-spin Stroller is not a lightweight buggy and the length of it is also considerable, therefore if you have got a small car boot, ensure you do double check the size as it could be a touch long once folded.  The price of the stroller is around the £150 – £200 price tag, which may be tad high for some budgets. However with the included feature of the built-in speakers, the price is certainly worth it.  So here is our verdict in terms of the pros and cons:

Pros: Stylish, smooth ride, enclosed storage basket, easy to set up and manoeuvre, wide seat with leg rest, well-padded handles, speakers in hood, swivel front & rear wheels.
Cons: Fairly long when folded, few features, accessory package is a separate purchase.

Product update:

Here is a quick update; the Cosatto i-Spin Stroller has been shortlisted in the ‘Best pushchair’ category at the ‘Mother & Baby Awards 2010’.

Hauck Condor All in One Pushchair Review

A stroller, car seat, carry cot, Boot cover and changing bag for a price less than you would ever expect, the Hauck Condor All in One Set Pushchair gives you great value for money and not bad performance either. So, if you are searching for a coordinated package that will take your baby anywhere from birth to toddlerhood, without burning your pocket, then it is pretty hard to argue against the practical Condor All in One Travel System from Hauck. With an objective to cater to the needs of children in the best possible way, Hauck has been caring for the well-being of entire generations of babies since 1921. Here is the detailed list of our findings of this practical travel system.

Hauck Condor All in One Trio Navy

A Comfortable Buggy:

The Hauck Condor All in One Travel System is a smart and light pushchair suited from birth to toddler (approximately 4 years). With the Condor All in One Set from Hauck you are fully equipped from the start. The chassis seems to be a traditional buggy shape. Available in gorgeously attractive navy, charcoal, orange, red and turquoise colours with a circle graphic on each item, it is quite stylish without being too stunning; perhaps it may not turn heads and will not offend either. A closer look at its design features will tell you that the Condor has a visually attractive aluminium frame meaning that it is pretty durable and lightweight at the same time. The pushchair is of telescopic-folding type (also known as the umbrella type) making it one of the really small folding pushchairs. It is also much more compact than the traditional suspended type of pushchairs and we had no problems whatsoever folding it and storing it in the car boot or taking it on public transport. The whole process of folding and unfolding was fast and seamless. Thanks to the compact fold mechanism of this travel system which is also freestanding when folded.

Wheel System:

The buggy has four smart pairs of plastic wheels, each of diameter 17cm giving good steerage, manoeuvrability and stability. The front wheels of the pushchair come with swivel/lock (360°) that makes life easier around town and gives you greater flexibility depending on where you are. With double back wheels, the independent wheel suspension of the buggy makes manoeuvring through grocery aisles, subway platforms and crowded boutiques a simple, one-handed task. There is an excellent spring mechanism acting on both back wheels that gives a safer and smoother ride. We also found that the wheels are easy to put on. Not to mention that there is also a foot operated brake to prevent it from rolling if you park it on a hill.

Telescopic height-adjustable handle:

Weighing 10 kg, the buggy features a telescopic height-adjustable handle of length 102-105 cm that will suit to your size and save your back. The handle you pull to collapse the pushchair can also be made use for carrying, though this is not ideal. The handle can be adjusted to suit two different positions. The easy grip handlebars could be raised or lowered to make sure that whoever is pushing the pram feels comfortable. The front bumper bar is removable from the buggy, supposing you have to fit the car seat clips and provides comfort as your baby grows. Another useful feature is the adjustable calf support that accepts that not all kids have the same length legs.

Car Seat:

The car seat is suited for use from newborn to 13kg (about 12 -15 months). You can use it with your baby in the car, then lift the seat out of the car and clip onto the pushchair chassis. It is as simple as this. The car seat comes with its own integral hood with a viewing window that helps totally cover up your little baby, head support pillow and 5-point safety harnesses for maximum safety. Once your baby is big enough to sit up and watch things, you will probably want to start using the seat unit instead of the carry cot. The seat unit is built with a wide, comfortable padded seat with integral safety harness for your newborn. Besides, the footrest can be adjusted to three positions to fit a growing child and this you can either raise or lower it as required. The seat recline on the buggy is pretty simple to operate and has four reclining positions. With a reclining position of 151° and sitting position of 102°, the seat goes pretty flat enough for a newborn, though we feel that you may not use this feature much as you got the carrycot anyway. Do note that the seat only faces away from the parent on this Hauck Condor buggy.

Car seat features:

The handle grip is ergonomically styled with one handed adjustment. The car seat has a seat belt pad to make sure the chair is safe and accounts for premium comfort. With a detachable, full shell Styrofoam inlay, an adjustable headrest protector gives that extra bit of protection for your baby. The outer material of the seat is made of 100 % polyester and is filled with 100 % polyester fleece. With the central belt adjustment in place, you will find it pretty easy to adjust the length of the belt and this feature hits home the message of just how important protection is to a pushchair. Weighing less than 3 kg, the car seat is extra light, removable and washable. The pram and car seat clip onto built-in adapters in the arm rests. The car seat in combo with Hauck strollers/pushchairs turns out to be a classy Shop’n drive travel system. This baby car seat is a Zero Plus Comfort Group 0+ forward and rear facing one. The Condor All in One travel system complies with the required safety standards like the EN 1888:2003-01 + A1:2005-08+A2:2005-08+A3:2005-08.

Carrycot:

The carrycot of the Hauck Condor All in One Travel Set has its own carry handles and clips effortlessly onto the pushchair chassis, (on top of the seat that goes flat) and this feature will turn the buggy into a pram allowing the baby to lie flat. We also found that the rigid carrycot is well padded and comfortable. The baby also faces the parent who is pushing the pram. Another impressive feature is that the carrycot includes a spacious padded hood with contrasting fabric interior to keep the rain or wind off the baby’s face. You can also lower or raise the hood without waking the baby up. There is a matching apron which fits across the carrycot in order to keep the baby completely warm and snug. On using, we found that both the car seat and the carry cot are quite easy to attach to the buggy. The good thing is that they do not need separate adaptors as they may easily get lost and do not detach the seat unit, so there is no real fussing. This means that both the carrycot and car seat feel completely secure in place.

Hauck Condor All in One Lolli Turquoise

Accessories details:

Just underneath the seat unit, there is a large shopping basket, perfect for shopping and other essentials. You can also use the space to store the matching, rucksack style baby changing bag. This changing bag comes with its own changing mat and gives one plenty of pockets to keep all those baby essentials. The removable canopy and cover is easily hand washable. You can use the rain cover either when the Condor is set up as a pushchair or pram. It will no doubt cover the entire length of the chassis, keeping your child really warm and dry.}

Dimensions:

This Hauck Condor All in One pushchair measures 90 cm (L) x 54 cm (W) x 105 (H) cm when unfolded and the folded dimension is 108 cm (L) x 35 cm (W) x 48 cm (H). The length and width of the car seat is 20cm & 34 cm respectively, with the back being 49 cm. The length of the back rest is 81 cm.

Manufacturer Warranty:

This travel system is covered under a warranty of 6 months against manufacturing defects from the original date of purchase.

What to watch out for:

Given the price, we expected there to be a few short comings, perhaps the most noticeable are the handles. Though they are adjustable, we found that they lack padding and this means it would be a bit uncomfortable to push for longer periods. The pushchair is not the lightest and so it is not that easy to carry around. Coming to the carrycot, it is removed from the chassis by pushing the buttons on either side. This makes you feel like as though it might tip with a baby in, so it is best to leave your baby in place if he is sleeping when you get home.  Another drawback is that the attachment for the car seat and the carrycot is accessed via a covered recess in the arms of the pushchair. Now this is a bit tricky and may break your nails. When you leave the seat in place all the time, it may look bulky and feel heavier with the additional items on. The top of the seat sticks out at the end of the carrycot, marring the overall look. The changing bag is nothing brilliant, but will at least hang of the pushchair with ease.

Verdict:

Pros: All your baby’s travel needs in one neat package, and at a great-value price
Cons: The carrycot sits awkwardly on buggy seat with few attachments a bit fiddly

With almost everything you require, down to the changing bag and rain cover, the Hauck Condor All in One Travel System gives an all-in-one option at a good price. Nevertheless, as is often the way with most travel systems, not all are perfect. Likewise in this case, the harsh handles and bulky appearance with the carrycot in place may tend to put you off. So the bottom-line, if you are a parent looking for any budget solution for your baby’s travel needs, then this one is made for you.

OBaby Apollo Plus Twin Pushchair Review

If you are parent of twins or have two kids who are quite close in age, twin pushchairs can be great lifesavers. Whether you are out for a walk to a mall or the zoo, twin pushchairs will help you carry your children without any trouble. The OBaby Apollo Plus Twin Pushchair is designed for the seating and transportation of two young children at a time. The positives of getting one are a lot of, one of which is obviously you have a side by side seat for your 2 littlies. Let’s see them one by one in the following review on this pushchair.

OBaby Apollo Plus Twin Pushchair Sport Lime

Design features:

The Apollo Plus Sport Twin Pushchair is made by OBaby who has a lot of innovative and smart pushchairs to its credit. The Apollo Plus Twin buggy is definitely a designer upgrade to the Apollo Twin, and a sporty upgrade to the regular Apollo Plus. The buggy has a slim, twin design and is very sturdy. Manoeuvrability is a breeze and makes taking two a lot easier. The buggy is built with a sturdy, yet lightweight stylish black chassis of aluminium. The pushchair understandably has two seats that are both independently adjustable. This means that one child can be made to sit up whilst the other little is asleep.

Flat & Compact:

For a double buggy, it goes really flat and compact and is easily collapsible, once you develop the knack in three small steps. With the reduced width of the OBaby Apollo, the pushchair fits in a boot on most car models without any problems. Also, getting in and out of the car is a one handed doodle compared to the likes of 2-handed heavy lift operation with other prams. Therefore, when you are out of the boot, simply do a quick flick to expand and press down on the hinge points for locking in and you’re away.

Adjustable 5 point harness:

As with almost all prams now, the pushchair features a 5 point harness which your baby will find easier to latch and of course with padded shoulder straps, there is an added bit of security keeping your little one safely in place.

Multi position seat unit:

The multi position seat unit reclines completely making this twin pushchair suitable from 3 months. As for us, it is a deluxe, double version of an umbrella and is a collapsible pushchair. The seats are also nicely padded for your child’s comfort and this comes as another bonus. There is also a built in padding for the head, typically a soft head hugger for your child.

Five seat positions:

We really appreciate the five different seat positions that the buggy can be set at. The key point that was different for us is that there is really a position for every occasion from completely upright to laying flat. You will be pretty satisfied with the straight back posture and it really is right angles all the way. This is an improvisation on the slanted position (even in full ‘upright’ mode). The baby will be able to see straight ahead, without the need to strain his neck to get a panoramic view. Therefore this buggy is an instant hit with the young ones who are interested in two things in pushchair choice namely comfort and view. The rest is simply detail.

Ergonomic foam handles:

The OBaby Apollo Plus pushchair comes with an ergonomically optimised, foam insulated handles and provide a firm and comfortable grip and protection to push your kids around. The handle is adjustable to a height position of 101 cm. Now are there any disadvantages? Note if you’re a tall guy with long legs, your natural gait will appear to irritatingly coincide with the handle-wheel causing your feet to scuff the buggy’s back wheels. However, it isn’t a serious design fault. Besides, the pushchair also comes with a Self closing clip and Carry handle to make it effortless to lift and at less than 14 kg, the OBaby Apollo Plus is a light weight buggy. Not surprisingly, the pushchair features two position calf supports for little legs and there is an adjustable footrest for your child that is comfortable for the infant as well as the slightly taller toddler.

OBaby Apollo Plus Twin Pushchair Sport Red

Wheel System:

Coming to the all important wheel system, the pushchair features 6 sets of 2 small, solid, sturdy plastic / rubber coated swivel wheels. Note that the pushchair is not an off roader and should only be manoeuvred on pavements. The advantage of the 6 sets of sporty black wheels is that the buggy can cope with potholes well as whichever set of buggy wheels goes down the hole, the remaining wheels ensure that it keeps it upright for a stable ride, although the diameter of the wheels is only around 12 cm, the similar principle as stabilizers provide on a bicycle. The Individual front wheel suspension provides a smooth comfortable ride. The front wheels swivel makes the whole process of manoeuvring easier and they also lock providing more control when moving on rough paths. Going up pavements is not difficult as the centre of gravity is over the buggy’s back wheels. This means that tilting the front wheels of the pushchair isn’t a weight raising movement and they lift off the floor quite easily. The buggy also includes parking brakes that are foot-operated and is meant for your little one’s safety which allows the controlling of stroller on slopes just with a swift knock of the toes.

Accessories:

We really love the extras that come along with the pushchair. Take the full Raincover as an example which in itself is a high quality one, elasticised, well fitted and the seams don’t appear to be susceptible to unravelling – a very vital point indeed. There is an adjustable hood that is easy to fold and provide complete cover for your little one. The parent window is one of the most generous you are ever likely to see and with this you can keep an eye on your passengers. Not to mention the sun canopy that can shield from any angle and give you optimal protection from the sun. The handy, mesh large coordinating basket gives you plenty of storage and is removable for simple cleaning. There is a zip pocket on the rear of seat unit which is great for storing your valuables. And most moms and fathers would agree a footmuff is perhaps the most useful accessory in a pushchair, making sure your child’s toes are comfortable no matter how chilly it is outside. The buggy comes complete with a changing bag that you can use it either as a rucksack or hang on the back of the buggy.

Available colours:

The Apollo Plus Twin comes in a wide range of attractive finishes namely the Sport Red (Code: 13OB0803), Sport Lime (Code: 13OB0807) and Sport White (Code: 13OB0820).

Technical specifications:

The buggy can hold up to 15 kg of weight or a child up to 4 years of age. The folded dimensions of the buggy are 107 x 47 x 34cm with the assembled dimensions being 101 x 74 x 85cm. The seat of the pushchair is a breeze to wipe clean.

Manufacturer warranty:

The pushchair comes with a warranty of 6 months from the original date of purchase.

Overall:

The OBaby Twin Pushchair is a beneficial alternative to a heavy off-roader. With a host of practical features, this is a great secondary pushchair.  We understand it is a bit expensive than its nearest competitor, but its quality far overshadows the cost. If you are not offroading, then it is a fabulous primary pushchair.

Tippitoes Max Viz Stroller Review

Let’s begin the review with an interesting news from the ‘Peterborough Examiner’ on the use of Baby strollers in public places that says ‘Baby strollers squeeze old, disabled off buses’. As rightly pointed out, there are quite a number of modern large strollers available on the market that do not fold up easily if you have to go upstairs or push into any sort of cramped space. The following review is on a stroller that folds up very easily and is lightweight at the same time namely the Tippitoes Max Viz Stroller.

Design features:

The Tippitoes suitably named ‘Maz Viz’ will make sure you are seen about when out and about, making the Tippitoes Max Viz Stroller, a high visibility stroller in the streets and pavements of the busy roads. The stroller is perfect for use by babies from 6 months old.  The Max Viz stroller comes with a multi-reclining back that reclines to a suitable position for your baby to sleep comfortably.  The reclining seat can sit upright for the nosier babies who like to see what is going on.  The seat reclines with a strap which alters at the back. Altering the strap is a breeze and one has to simply unclip it altogether if the child wants to lie as far back as possible.

Tippitoes Max Viz Stroller

Wheel system:

The stroller features front wheels that give extra maneuverability and swivels through 360 degree, therefore maneuvering the stroller in the streets is not a problem at all. The front wheel is fixed with a locking device and provides that extra bit of security. The swivel lockable front wheels can help you negotiate the stroller in difficult conditions. The small chunky wheels look lovely making it a nice item to push. And you can count 100 percent on the front wheel suspension that gives you a smooth ride and high level of durability. This is especially important if you have to walk a lot with the stroller. The wheels are not obviously all terrain but they are much sturdier compared to its competition.

Handle:

The height of the Max Viz Stroller stroller handle from the floor to top is 101 cm, so the handles are sufficiently long enough to accommodate your stride so that you could walk comfortably while pushing it. The handles are great to hold. Besides, they help carrying things around while shopping and aid transporting. The width between the handles is 36.5 cm.

Easily folded:

The most impressive feature of the stroller is that it is easy to fold up and open. It is also fairly thin when folded. Also, we had no problem fitting it in our boot with the extra seats up and this means it is around 6” when folded. The bottom line is that it does not take up a lot of space in a boot and if you are looking for a stroller that can fold up small for those quick trips on the bus or down the street, then you will love having this one around with you.

Accessories:

We liked some of the accessories that come alongside the stroller. For instance, there is an adjustable front footrest for your baby’s tired little feet. And without this your baby will let his feet drag on the wheels making the pushchair even more burdensome. There is a roomy shopping mesh basket underneath that is adequate for bits & bobs and this can be really handy. The PVC rain cover fits from the edge of hood you see and is pretty nice & long. The Hood and the small fold Rain cover are perfect particularly with the current UK weather (the blazing sun one minute, the sudden downpour of rain the next!). The rain cover is very easy to put on though and if you were to remove the hood, then it will not go on. The lack of a foot muff and limited side protection come almost as a disappointment.

Other features:

Weighing 6.5 kg, the quick umbrella fold stroller made of lightweight aluminium frame folds down itself to 108cm x 25cm x 14.5cm. The cover fabric is of course washable and you can give it a good scrub down to get it looking neat and tidy again. There is a 5 point harness to securely retain your child and does not tend to tangle up like some others. Available in two bright colours – Green (product code: PC3) and Orange (PC4 that was launched in May 2009), they do not get mucky quick. In our opinion, the ‘green’ looks more beautiful than on the picture.

Overall:

Just as a quick update, the Max Viz Stroller bagged the ‘Top Gear Award’ from the FQ Magazine for quality and performance. But there are quite a few things we don’t like about the stroller, one of which is that the back of the seat is not as high as one would have anticipated. But more often than not, the baby will be happy sitting upright, so this we don’t count as an issue. Another disadvantage with the stroller is that the baby is able to lean forward as he could go because of the flexible blackrest. With lots of room for kid plus the toys and blanket, it fits so well into the car and is easy getting it onto the bus (a heavy sigh of relief, at last!). Plus, dads do not mind pushing the stroller too.  And for all these and more, it’s not a lot of money!

Peg Perego Triplette Triple Tandem Pushchair Java

You might be really lucky enough to be having triplets or you may have a growing family and want a pushchair that is flexible enough for your requirements. Whatever be the case, the new Peg Perego Triplette Triple Tandem Pushchair Java is seriously built for real drivers and turns the chore of transporting three children into a doddle! Head on down the page where you will find a comprehensive review on Triplette Triple Tandem Pushchair Java from Peg Perego. The experience of having reviewed a few Twin Pushchairs/buggies in the past makes it for an interesting study.

Peg Perego Triplette Triple Tandem Pushchair

Design features:

The Peg Perego Triplette Pushchair is basically a Tandem pushchair, the details of which we will review as we progress. Now, let us have a quick look at some of the design features of the pushchair. This pushchair undoubtedly is one of the easier models if you want to push the buggy on your own with triplets. It had two major updates; one of which is that it features a new and improved Chassis namely the MARK 2 CHASSIS which you might find it easier to get in and out of the car. The modified Chassis can also be detached from the seat units and the biggest advantage clearly is the excellent off-road capability that it offers. But as a downside, the chassis is pretty long and does not fit that easily into a standard family car.  The second update is the new ball bearing wheels which will be covered under the Wheel system. The fabric is a blend of cotton & polyester and is machine-washable. The pushchair comes with a Java brown colour scheme and brilliant silver accents.

Construction:

The Peg Perego Triple pushchair as we already know is a tandem type and has three stroller seats placed one in front of the other or simply put it is a triple buggy designed to accommodate triplets or newborns. Apparently, it has three removable Zip-front hoods, which is highly practical. It allows you to throw it on when the air is chill and protects the baby in high winds. You can also unzip and take the hoods down and use them as sunshades when the sun comes out behind the clouds. There are three detachable weather foot Boots (Apron) that make sure the new borns are just as comfortable. All in all, it gives you the flexibility you need as a parent. As for the construction, it features a corrosion resistant aluminium frame with a clear satin lacquer finish. The lacquer offers a semi-glossy surface and provides an excellent finish to the frame. Weighing in as much as 25 kg, it is fairly heavy and we found it a bit difficult at first to put it together. But guess what? We have it down to a fine art now and can achieve it in under a minute.

Travel System compatible:

The Peg Perego Triplette Tandem pushchair is fully travel system compatible. An automatic attachment system known as the G-Matic ‘one click’ system helps you easily attach or detach the three Giro seat units (Included) and three Primo Viaggio Tri-fix Car seats directly to the chassis of the stroller. Note that this car seat is sold separately. Ensure your baby is wearing a correctly and adjusted Five-Point safety Seat Belt provided for complete freedom of movement. The Navetta Bassinet Unit is compatible with the stroller and can be securely and instantly attached to the buggy. Do note that it is not included in the pack and has to be bought separately.

Seat features:

The stroller comes with a reversible seat that gives you more flexibility. In that you can change the stroller seat for your baby to face you while you are out together. Further as an extension to this point, the tandem pushchair features forward-facing seats that allow you to face out into the same direction when you are pushing this. Another advantage is that the adjustable seats positions can be operated independently. As your child grows bigger, you may require toddler seats, but the buggy cannot be converted back to toddler seats which is a certain disappointment.

Handle:

Though the height of the handle is adjustable, the pushchair does not have a reversible handlebar which means that you cannot change between rear and forward facing modes with simply the flip of the handle. The lack of this feature might disturb your baby at times.

Wheel System:

The Peg Perego Triplet Stroller Triplette SW makes it easy to steer the front wheels. A practical SW ‘Steering Wheel’ facilitates easy manoeuvrability. We tried adjusting the steering wheel to suit various heights and it did exceedingly well offering a superior grip. This may take some getting used to, but it works great once you get the hang of it. There are 4 large wheels including shock absorber on front wheel which can be adjusted to harder or softer according to your child’s weight. The fixed-steering device aligns the front wheels of the pushchair when required. The foot brakes for the rear wheels are positioned just above the rear and it can be centrally controlled by you. The stylish 30 cm diameter wheels are fitted with ball bearings which make the pushchair very light to push and manoeuvre, notwithstanding its heavy weight. The 360 degree lockable front swivel with steel ball bearings ensures maximum smoothness and manoeuvrability. The buggy is excellent over all types of terrain including pavements, grass, roads and rough tracks but it is difficult to manoeuvre on sand. Thanks widely to the four large sprung wheels.

Accessories:

When you have to go out under inclement weather, the three raincovers will shield your infants from the elements. It could easily attach to the Peg Perego pushchair and stores rather easily in the handy, spacious carry basket that folds up compactly with the buggy allowing for a convenient commute.
The footrest can adjust itself to three different positions and the backrest could recline completely. These features count a lot when it comes to the ultimate comfort of your baby. The pushchair does not have foot muffs, quite a useful feature for keeping your baby’s feet balmy and comfortable on bitter winter days, and on testing, we found that there is not a lot of side protection for optimum security.

Peg Perego Triple Tandem Pushchair Folded Position

Book Folding System:

The frame features folding system that is similar to opening or closing a book. This unique fold system could eliminate the risk of little fingers getting pinched while you fold and unfold the buggy. The pushchair measures 109cm (H) x 169.5cm (L) x 60cm (W) when opened and folds down itself to a dimension of 44cm (H) x 144cm (L) x 60cm (W).

Warranty:

The manufacturer offers one year warranty on the frame from manufacturing defects with 90 days warranty on the seat upholstery from the date of purchase.

Overall:

A feature that we are unsure whether the pushchair possesses is the ‘stadium seating’ by which one can place the baby in the rear higher up so that three of the kids can enjoy the view. With steerable chassis for easy manoeuvrability, the seats stack into one another, an indicative of that it does not consume much space than you may think. But remember the weight will tend to increase as your child grows, so make sure you check its size in folded position. Last but not the least, if you are looking for a durable pram to last your triplets/young family all through to toddlerdom, then this one would pop up in your mind as an obvious choice!
