Design features:
The Petite Star Zia Stroller is a 3 wheel stroller that has all the requisites of a brilliant pushchair including the lie-back seat, easy to fold and feather weight nature all wrapped up in a cool, practical design.
Lightweight Stroller:
This Star Zia stroller is highly durable and comes with 100% aluminium chassis. It is extremely lightweight weighing around 6.3kg.and is fully corrosion resistant. Though it is compact, it has plenty of room for your shopping and folds down very small that makes it one of the lightest from-birth strollers available on the market. A twin wheel system helps you handle and manoeuvre the stroller smoothly. The wheels are very quiet over all kinds of terrains with nice suspension on back wheels.
Unique compact Fold:
The Petite Star Zia Pushchair features a compact easy fold mechanism that makes it a doddle to open out or pack away in minutes. Thanks to its simple push-click-push system; it is so light to manoeuvre the stroller and carry when folded even when carrying the baby at the same time. There is also a clip to keep it in place once folded. The fold is short and wider than a Maclaren type, so it is better suited to most boot spaces. The stroller can even fold down with the cosytoes still in it. Once folded, Zia stroller is so small that it can fit perfectly into the smallest car boot or store away smartly in the tiniest space. It can also fold up with the full footmuff on.
Shopping Basket:
There is a generous shopping basket underneath, just large enough for the essentials. The Star Zia stroller has a Raincover that comes with a flap for passing through without your having to lift the whole thing. There is no problem while putting on the raincover in bad weather without having to struggle with Poppers or Velcro. Also, the outer cover fabric is washable.
Padded reclining seat:
The padded reclining seat allows children to sleep comfortably. It is perfect for nap-time and can be used right from the birth. The back reclines with a strap system that we found quite simple to use after figuring it out. The padded seat reclines independently to an almost flat position making it ideal for newborns. Most babies love being able to sit forward and see the world, then once if they look like they need a sleep, the back can be fully reclined, so it provides the best of both worlds. There is also a Velco strap that goes around the back of the wheel to keep it on place and the brakes are fantastic.
Handle:
The handles are quite low for anyone tall and guess the handles could be slightly higher, but not a big problem at all. It is a bit disappointing that the handles do not extend and they could do from having some form of grip foam as they are a little slippery. It also has holes for 5 point safety harness in exact place that helps stop your baby from sliding out.
Good size hood:
This stroller features a hood that protects your child from mild drizzle, bright sunlight shining in their eyes or gusty wind. This pushchair hood also has a nice little window in the top so that you can still keep an eye on your baby when the stroller seat is facing forwards.
Accessories:
There is a handy Zia transit bag that comes with rubber grips, straps with shoulder pads and extra strong zip for that perfect holiday out. The straps are simple to do up and undo having large clasp. There is a cosy footmuff in this stroller to keep the baby’s toes nice and warm. It is a must have for the newborn and features a soft lining with fleece storm flap which is quite practical in the long run. However, the Zia one does not zip all the way up like other strollers. On pushing the stroller, the footmuff is found to be not very long and the backing of the muff is actually slippery against the pram, so that makes it a bit difficult for the baby to sit upright without him slipping down.
Drawbacks:
On the minus side, it is difficult to get into the basket when the seat is in lay flat mode. A heavy bag may tip the buggy backwards. We are also not actually impressed with the raincover as it fails to stay around the bottom of the buggy and sometimes the bottom of the buggy tends to gets soaked in the rain.
The seat of the pram is slightly shallow, so the baby is often sitting sloped, held up by the strap between the legs. Another downside is the mechanism to raise or lower the seat as the back is adjusted by a strap system which means that you should not adjust when the child is in it.
Conclusion:
The pram is easily stowed, easy to set up, fits well in the boot and the front wheel even clips off, perfect on the buses. The wheels do not protrude from the chassis, making it compact and would fold down tiny to go on a plane. The selling point is undoubtedly its easy manoeuvrability even using one hand. It would have been nice had the travel bag come along with it. However, the pros far outweigh the cons. All in all, this stroller is a good little run around for everyday use.
